The good news is that new courier and warehouse worker employment grew by 40,000 in August.  This represented about 17% of the total growth in US-wide August employment.   
 
In the short term, U.S. Port executives say they expect the logjams stretching from China to Midwestern container terminals to extend beyond the Lunar New Year in February.  In the longer term, the consensus is that container capacity will likely fall short of demand in the later years. (Financial Times)  Because of severe port congestion, nearly 6% of the world’s dry-bulk fleet is idled at anchor off China’s coast. (Lloyd’s List)
