Supreme Court pushes back on preferences for the NLRB

The Supreme Court (Starbucks v. McKinney) ruled that the 6th Circuit Court of Appeal was wrong:  they should have denied the NLRB an injunction stopping Starbucks from firing workers who broke company rules. It seems that the 6th Circuit gave special treatment to the  NLRB.

 
In other news, the price to rent a container in Singapore rose 26 percent from October 2023 to May, with a twenty-foot container now costing US$1,211, up from US$950. This also contributes to elevated container leasing rates on key routes, such as from China to the United States, which have doubled since November and added to the higher freight rates shippers are already paying to move goods worldwide.
