Scope 3 emissions are indirect greenhouse gas emissions — and the supply chain managers “own” the following: 
  • Category 4 upstream transportation and distribution—think freight on inbound materials
  • Category 9 downstream transportation and distribution -think 3PL warehouses, deployment, and freight to customer
