Trucking Being Hurt

The good news for carriers is…

The good news for carriers is:
  • Traffic is not a concern – average speed in cities like LA and Atlanta has more than doubled
  • Fuel costs are down – BUT, with fewer miles being driven by gasoline vehicles, the refineries have to find a place to put the gasoline – which is now a by-product of cracking crude oil.  Storage is all filling up!
The bad news is that while grocery deliveries are blowing the doors off, many backhauls have evaporated, so their networks (and costs) are out of balance.
